School Trip & Group Educational Information

Introduction for school trips and educational visits

Tate Liverpool is the home of the National Collection of modern and contemporary art and shows world class exhibitions from the best artists from around the world. Our tour guides can bring famous works of art to life and the beautiful light filled galleries provide the perfect setting to inspire students to draw, learn and create.  We also find the artworks can inspire discussions which are relevant to many other areas of the curriculum.

Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Our location in Liverpool on the historic Albert Dock allows visitors to combine their visit with other attractions in the city and can be suitable to teach students about the history and regeneration of the city.  Our qualified Artist Educators and information assistants can support the visit of students of all ages and we tailor our talks to the needs of the group.

We also offer a comprehensive professional development programme for teachers to help support teaching in the classroom and to develop your own artistic practice.

We show some of the best known and loved artworks and the contemporary environment offers great inspiration to young people.
