School Trip & Group Educational Information

Introduction for school trips and educational visits

The SSE Museum of Electricity in Christchurch is situated in the site of an old power station; this unique building offers a great location for children to learn about electricity through the ages.

Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

The Museum offers free guided tours for all age ranges, visits can be tailored to the curriculum needs. For younger students we can provide learning experiences on basic circuits, magnetism and generation. Older students can be shown demonstrations of the tesla coil.

All our visitors are shown early examples of electricity in action, alongside their more modern counterparts.
