Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits? Our position in Northumberland leaves us central to many superb attractions - just 5 minutes walk from a stunning beach, as well as Bamburgh Castle and The Grace Darling museum. A short drive to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Boat trips to The Farne Islands Bird reserves and a visit to Cragside House, the first house in England to have electricity are just some of the excursions on many schools ‘must do’ list. Our hotel is offered on an exclusive basis to your school group, so no other guests will be allowed access to the building, offering a high level of security and privacy with exclusive use of the whole building. We also train our staff as to the importance of security for your group. We offer a superb cooked breakfast and evening meal for children and staff, and packed lunches can be provided where required. Our hotel has a large restaurant and a beautiful lounge with sofas, tables and chairs suitable for carrying out course work, entertaining or relaxing watching our large screen television with DVD. As a hotel we offer very comfortable and high quality accommodation as well as a very warm welcome from ourselves with help and advice when required. School staff return year after year to enjoy our hospitality and the fantastic attractions of Northumberland. What does a typical school trip or educational visit include? Typical Visit from our point of view as the accommodation provider: The school arrives to a warm welcome and a safety talk, we then help everyone to their rooms prior to evening meal. Schools generally go to the beach or village after evening meal or stay indoors watching DVD’s or making their own entertainment. Biscuits and juice are provided for supper then staff have access to a bar. What size groups do they cater for? Up to 60 children plus staff. Rooms vary from 2 persons per room up to 7 persons per room. What can they provide you with to support your school trip or educational visit? Advice on central attractions within the Northumberland area. Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions? Yes happy for photos no copyright restrictions. How do you arrange a risk assessment? We provide a general risk assessment for our building and procedures. A pre - visit can be arranged in order to complete your risk assessment of the hotel. What does it cost? £20.00 per person, November - February + VAT for bed/breakfast/evening meal. Superb Discounts available for 3 to 4 day breaks in the months of: September, October and March. Is specific clothing required? No. Do you have first aid on site? Please provide first aiders within your group. Are there disabled facilities? We have 3 ground floor rooms but due to entrance restrictions help would be required by an able bodied person for wheelchair users - it is not suitable for someone permanently restricted to a wheelchair.
