School Trip & Group Educational Information

Introduction for school trips and educational visits

Activity, Adventure and Education Centre – JCA Pestalozzi

Pestalozzi is idyllically situated in 175 acres of beautiful fields and woodland near the historical town of Hastings. Groups can enjoy a wide variety of JCA activities in the diverse landscape, including orienteering, pond dipping, bivi building, pioneering, abseiling and climbing. This unique centre also offers scholarships to young people from the developing world, who complete their International Baccalaureate Dipolma over 2 years – an ideal opportunity for groups to mix with children from different cultures and backgrounds. Located in ‘1066 Country’, groups can visit some of the wonderful local attractions to encompass their history and geography studies.

Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

JCA has recently qualified for the Learning Outside the Classroom Badge and Adventuremark.

Pestalozzi is the perfect centre for groups to complete the JCA Eco Challenge & the Eco Challenge Award. These courses provide the ideal opportunity to reinforce environmental studies with the National Curriculum, as groups learn about biospheres, natural resourcing, energy efficiency, recycling and animal habitats. We provide one multi-trained instructor per activity group for the entire duration of your stay - this enables the instructor to understand the strengths, personalities and limitations of each individual; allowing them to reach their full potential through trust, encouragement and development.
