This centre offers a high standard of en-suite accommodation, extensive grounds and superb facilities including heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools and sports fields. Schools can enjoy a wide variety of activities and challenges including raft building, kayaking, blind trail, mini olympics, water polo, climbing and abseiling. Mill Rythe is an extremely popular JCA centre! Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits? Mill Rythe’s diverse range of land and water-based activities offers something to suit everyone. Groups can choose to participate in the on-site Action & Adventure course or explore the local attractions with our Activity & Education course. We provide one multi-trained instructor per activity group for the entire duration of your stay - this enables the instructor to understand the strengths, personalities and limitations of each individual; allowing them to reach their full potential through trust, encouragement and development. What does a typical school trip or educational visit include? Our prices include:

• Action & Adventure Our courses focus on engaging and enjoyable learning, encompassing areas of the National Curriculum that are often the most difficult to deliver in the school environment. They are cross curricular in their nature and therefore cover a number of Key Stage elements including:
• English Our bespoke courses promote personal, social and health education by promoting teamwork, facing new challenges, overcoming fears, encouraging discipline and developing effective communication skills. We are happy to tailor each visit to meet the group needs and requirements. What size groups do they cater for? The minimum group size for any JCA visit is 8 children and 1 adult, numbers are not restricted. Mill Rythe accommodates up to 450 children and 45 adults per night in 1 – 2 bedroom chalets. Bed linen is provided for adults and children. All chalets provide en-suite toilet and shower/bath facilities and are fully heated. What can they provide you with to support your school trip or educational visit? Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a comprehensive Party Leader Information Pack and log-in details for the ‘Party Leader Area’ on our website containing the following items:
• Essential centre information Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions? We do not have any restrictions regarding photography, video or audio recordings. How do you arrange a risk assessment? We provide full risk assessments and a copy of our Safety Management Policy to all Party Leaders. We welcome preview visits from Party Leaders, Governors, EVC’s and LA Advisors and fully appreciate that a visit gives you the opportunity to carry out your risk assessments, inspect the facilities and get to know your way around the centre. We recommend that you visit during our operational period in order to meet the team and see the children participating in the activities. What are the contact details for their education officer? We do not have a dedicated education officer, but all of our staff are trained and experienced. What does it cost? Peak season prices start at £264 (+VAT) for a 4 night stay at Mill Rythe. Contact us for the latest special offers. We offer a 25% discount to all children receiving free school meals - subject to terms, conditions and availability. Is specific clothing required? Not usually, but remember, the British weather can be unreliable so wet weather clothes are recommended. Wetsuits will be provided for all water-sports activities. We will provide you with a suggested kit list prior to your trip. Do you have first aid on site? Our instructors carry a First-Aid Kit on all activity sessions and hold the Health & Safety Executive Appointed Person Award. In addition to this, a member of staff holds the First Aid at Work qualification. It is the responsibility of the accompanying adults to administer any medication that is required or prescribed. What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?
• Indoor heated swimming pool Children are not recommended to take more than £10 each, but it is at the schools discretion.
