Bradwell Outdoors is based on the Blackwater estuary, a lovely stretch of sheltered tidal water on the east coast of Essex. With our highly experienced staff we offer an unrivalled outdoors experience for individuals or groups, from taster sessions all the way up to advanced instructor qualifications. This can include Dinghy Sailing, Offshore Sailing, Power Boating and Multi Activity, We can also offer self catering accommodation. Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits? Overlooking the tidal Blackwater Estuary Bradwell Outdoors provides an exciting, challenging learning environment. An approved training centre for water sports, Bradwell offers expert tuition in water and land-based activities. Courses are tailored to each group's specific learning needs, and include academic, vocational and staff development programmes. Participants have the opportunity to run their own courses, and thrive on the experience of residential learning, developing self-confidence and lasting friendships. What does a typical school trip or educational visit include? The centre offers comfortable dormitory-style accommodation for 38 people, plus separate single or double-bedded rooms for 6 staff/adults. Residents have a choice of menu, and quality meals are prepared on site. Other facilities include a television lounge, dining and games rooms, showers, toilets, drying rooms and a payphone. There is also a fully equipped classroom (for up to 40 students) and a computer / resources room. All essential equipment, lifejackets (personal buoyancy), wet suits, safety helmets, climbing gear - is provided. There is also a minibus to transport students to other sites for canoeing and walking. With over 25 years proven experience Bradwell Outdoors is renowned for the quality and variety of its learning programmes. Participants can follow a multi-activity course, or concentrate on a particular skill, perhaps working towards a formal qualification. Centre staff - all highly qualified, experienced instructors - ensure the balance of education, enjoyment and safety is always maintained. Bradwell is an approved training centre for both the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and British Canoe Union (BCU), and also holds AALA accreditation for water sports.

Multi-activity options: What size groups do they cater for? 45 What can they provide you with to support your school trip or educational visit? Teacher's packs, Objectives forms and participant sheets are all provided, as is all equipment needed. Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copy write restrictions? Yes – this is fine by prior arrangement. How do you arrange a risk assessment? The centre provides risk assessments for its activities and accommodation on demand ,if the group is leading its own delivered activities it is the responsibility of the group leader to risk assess the activity. What are the contact details for their education officer? The centre has a curriculum coordinator. What does it cost? Costs vary depending on activities. Please contact us to discuss your individual requirements as we can tailor make a package to suit your needs, within your budget. Is specific clothing required? We provide all safety equipment and will advise you on any specific clothing required for your chosen activities. Do you have first aid on site? Yes – there are always first aiders available. What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits? For activity days please bring along a packed lunch. Are there disabled facilities?
