Ideally located between the holiday towns of Sandown and Shanklin the House offers groups a great base for exploring the Islands rich heritage, unique geographical locations and stunning scenery. Groups can also benefit from the many on-site activity options that are available free of charge, which can be run by either YMCA staff or self-led by group leaders. Winchester House has a relaxed, informal atmosphere and the staff approach everything they do with the group’s well-being and enjoyment in mind, from offering a choice of delicious lunch and dinner options to hot chocolate at bed time, nothing is too much trouble. Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits? Winchester House is minutes from a long sandy beach, which offer opportunities for geography field trips. Situated on the south east of the Island Winchester House is only a short drive to many locations of historic significance which are relevant to the National curriculum, such as Osborne House and Brading Roman Villa. • Winchester House has a private chapel which schools can use to celebrate religious services. • Many of the rooms benefit from sea views. • Variety of on-site rooms suitable for use as class/study rooms. • Myriad of on-site activities and games. • YMCA CRB checked staff available to help with groups. Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copy write restrictions? Groups are welcome to take above with no restrictions. How do you arrange a risk assessment? By calling Winchester House reservations on 01489 772215. Teachers need to carry our their own general site/building risk assessments. No, a basic kit list is available upon request and in the teachers information pack once a booking has been made. Do you have first aid on site? Winchester House staff are all first aid trained, however they are not available 24 hrs a day. What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?
