School Trip & Educational Visit Information

Dervaig Bunkrooms are part of the Dervaig village Hall.  The hall was built in 1999 and the bunkrooms provide income for the running of the hall, helping to keep it open for the community.   There is a spacious foyer which bunkrooms guests can use and if a larger venue is required we have the main hall itself which can be hired.

Dervaig is a pretty village - a Conservation area.  There are two good local shops for provisions and a pub all within walking distance of the Bunkrooms.  Dervaig is 10 miles from Tobermory - the Isle of Mull ‘s largest village/small town.

Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

We are a good low cost accommodation provider.  This is Community run and staying here helps sustain the hall facilities for the local community.

There are 2 bunkrooms with en-suite shower rooms and the ‘Committee Room’ has a sofa bed which can be used in conjunction with hiring both bunkrooms.   There are additional toilet and changing room facilities.  There is an outdoor sports area.

The island of Mull is a very accessible island with a frequent ferry service.  There is plenty of scope for archaeology, outdoor pursuits (walking), there are well established wildlife trips, whale and bird watching trips (land and sea).  Castles. Beaches. Ben More (a Munro).  Interesting geology.  Community owned woodland nearby.

What size groups do they cater for?

One bunkrooms sleeping 4.  One bunkrooms sleeping 6.  Both ensuite.  In the Committee room (sitting room) there is a sofa bed if separate group leader sleeping space required.
