School Trip & Group Educational Information

Alton Towers Resort is an ideal venue for out-of classroom learning with a stimulating Education Programme that makes a visit a highly enjoyable and unparalleled experience.
The Alton Towers Resort will be opening a new pirate themed land in 2008 – Mutiny Bay, where pupils can unwind and bond socially after a day’s interactive learning.

Group sizes:
No restriction for Schools and Colleges.
For organized groups, pricing is applicable for 10 or more people.

Free resource packs:
Road Wise Resource Pack (KS1 & 2) – in conjunction with the Department for Transport which offers an engaging yet fun teaching guide that includes 2 interactive lesson plans.
Science in Action (KS3 & 4) – Demonstrating the theories of speed, motion, forces and energy with the use of our sensational high velocity rides.
Design and Technology in Action (KS3 & 4) – Covers the pressure action on both our rides and their designs from conception to creation.

Risk assessment:
Free Teacher planning visits – up to 2 complimentary tickets (once payment has been received for a school booking) to plan your day.  These tickets must be used before the school visit.

Primary – Off peak (in term time)
Pupils £5.50
Teacher free places 1 for every 5 paying pupils
Additional Teacher places £22.50

Specific clothing:
The majority of the site is outdoor so we recommend provision for this is considered, together with suitable footwear to cover a 500 acre site.

First aid:
We have full Medical Centre facilities on site which is staffed by a fully qualified team.

Facilities include:
A large selection of facilities for all, including disabled facilities.

Educational talks:
Educational Talks provided at an additional £1 per student, Subjects include: Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources, ICT, Health and Safety and D&T.

Primary Teacher Taster Day – 28th March 2008
Claim a ticket for you and 2 guests to join us in our primary education centre for a special Road Safety talk – chat to our team and mingle with fellow teachers over a complimentary glass of bubbly – all for FREE.  To register for further information and tickets please email education@alton-towers.com quoting ‘Teacher Taster Event’ in the subject line.

Network Marketing:
Alton Towers Resort helps PTA’s fundraise through their School Partnership Scheme.  Partners can offer families great discounted entry into the park and receive complimentary tickets as rewards.  In additional, they will be entered into quarterly competitions for schools to win prizes which can be used for fund raising activities such as raffles and competitions.  Through regular communication and support from their Account Manager, the schools partners are able to encourage families to spend time together and enjoy a great day out.
