School Trips & Group Educational Information

Aeroventure is the site of the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum situated on the last part of the RAF Doncaster airfield in use during the post war 1930’s through to the end of the Second World War.

We are situated on Lakeside in central Doncaster beside the Racecourse once used to host the first air display in Britain in 1909.  We close to junction 3 on the M18 and more details about the museum with pictures is available on www.aeroventure .co.uk.

The 3 main buildings were all built in 1940 and are situated on a site covering about 4 hectares with a large grass area and picnic tables. Aircraft are on display outside and inside the museum.

The displays include aircraft from the recent past back to the 1950’s with some weapons on display.  We endeavourer to show both sides of aviation with the negative side of airpower use through our Sheffield Blitz Display, but counter this with the more positive side with aircraft built for fun and commerce and the intrepid pioneer years from the Edwardian era at the turn of the 20th Century.
