School Trip & Group Educational Information

Thriftwood is 97 acres of private deciduous woodland and owned by four Scout Districts. There are over 36 grassed clearings of various sizes. Four accommodation blocks sleep up to 94, (36, 32, 20 and 4). Fully equipped outdoor camping can cater for further 120. Some 30 on site activities, with qualified and authorised instructors for many, are available throughout the year.

Cost: From £4.40 per person per day, (Camping only) - to £50 per person per day (Indoor accommodation, transport (within 50 miles), catered meals, plus daytime and evening, activities.)

One adult supervisor per 12 children free, all other non participants pay £12 per person per day for food, transport and accommodation.

We have equipment to suit all ages for most activities, just ask. For example, pond dipping and cork guns are popular with our under elevens, while ice climbing and laser tag suit our over 11 years really well.

Specific clothing required for canoeing and rafting, together with appropriate additional footwear.

• Qualified First aiders on site, but groups need to provide own first aid kits.
 
Facilities include toilets can be found in buildings and around the site, plus 28 showers on site, souvenir shop, drinks and sweet vending machines.

• Visitors may bring own packed lunches for any visits, or catering can be provided. Ask for quotes.
