This grand Georgian 1752 budget hotel has many impressive features including stone-flagged entrance hall, a grand carved sweeping staircase, paneled rooms, vaulted cellar and a fabulous Rococo ceiling featuring Shakespeare's head. If you are looking for a budget York hotel, then Ace Hotel York is the place to be. With its own oak-beamed basement games room, TV lounge, sauna, and outside seating area Ace Hotel York is the top end of budget hotel accommodation.Ace Hotel York is situated within the City of York walls and has great views of York including York Minster and the York Eye. This city centre unique budget hotel offers a number of budget hotel rooms and budget hotel beds all with exquisite views. All bedrooms are en-suite and suit everyone’s budget. Ace Hotel York has recently undergone a £2 million hotel refurbishment programme, in line with its traditional Georgian Heritage but with a modern edge making it a your perfect accommodation for a trip to York. Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits? At Ace Hotel we do not arrange activities or organize day trips for educational or school visits. But being York, there are a numerous number of attractions, museums and parks. If you have not organized anything prior to your arrival at Ace Hotel, our staff will be more than happy to help you. What size groups do they cater for? The maximum size group we cater for is 123 pax. Please give information regarding room sizes and room facilities? At Ace Hotel we offer a range of exceptional value bedrooms. We have 4 to 14 Bedded Bunk Bedded Dormitories, all with En-suite facilities. Teachers, Coach Drivers and Guides can treat themselves to 2 Bedded Bunk Private rooms with En-suite Facilities. All rooms are provided with crisp white linen. Towels are not included but are available to hire (subject to availability). 2 Bedded Bunk Private rooms have their own TV, tea and coffee, safe. Towels and shower gel are included in the 2 Bedded Bunk Rooms. Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions? Yes, but on permission of the manager. How do you arrange a risk assessment? We do not provide risk assessments for the teachers, but can complete them upon request. Our fire alarm is tested on a daily basis and our fire drills on a monthly basis. What are the contact details for their education officer? No. We do not have an education officer. What does it cost? Some members of staff are trained as first aiders, but we do recommend the group do bring a qualified first aider. What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits? At Ace Hotel we do not have a restaurant. The dining area we have is used only for breakfast between 7.30am and 9am daily. We do have two vending machines and our bar, which is open from 11:00am until 11:30pm, can provide snacks. The basement games room area, outdoor seating area and bar lounge are the main common areas where your group can socialize. Internet Room and WIFI is available. Are there disabled facilities?
