Introduction for school trips and educational visits

The Alexandra Theatre is a hire venue that has a wonderful selection of touring shows which are suitable for audiences of all ages. The theatre itself opened on 27th May 1901 and the auditorium has 1371 seats situated on three different levels, the Stalls, the Dress Circle, and the Grand Circle.  The Alexandra Theatre has many facilities which we can offer to further your educational visits such as Theatre and Backstage Tours as well as a mix of educational and family performances.

What makes your trip to The Alexandra Theatre unique is that from the moment you book through our ticket line, where you can save on great group discounts and booking fees, your tickets will then arrive efficiently and on time.  The Alexandra Theatre  is a fully running professional theatre, with a variety of family and educational shows, which means when ever you come to the theatre you will be  viewing a  completely different performance making every trip memorable,  interesting and new to your group.

What does a typical school trip or educational visit include?

 A typical educational visit to our theatre would include a theatre performance, which was picked by the group organizer suitable for there group.  We can also tailor your booking by pre-ordering interval drinks and ice creams.

What size groups do they cater for?

We cater for groups sizes of 10+ and have a seating capacity of 1371 seats in the auditorium

What can they provide you with to support your school trip or educational visit?

The Alexandra Theatre does not provide education/teachers packs, how ever if the organizer would be interested in getting some extra information please do not hesitate to contact the group sales department at the theatre who then can put your request to the promoter of the show.

Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions?

Due to copyright laws, we can allow photographs, video or audio recordings to be taken within the theatre.

How do you arrange a risk assessment?

All our risk assessments are available on our website www.alexandratheatre.org.uk which you can download; alternatively you can phone us and request a hard copy by post.

What does it cost?

Group discounts would depend on the performance that you would be coming to see at the theatre as each show could have a different discount.

Is specific clothing required?

No specific clothing would be required for the trip here, however we would ask that school trips if in school time would wear their school uniform as it would help the accompanying staff of the trip as well as the members of staff at the theatre which school a pupil would belong to.

Do you have first aid on site?

We have many qualified first aiders on hand at the theatre, in the different departments so there would be no need to pay for an extra person as we have qualified staff at hand in case of any incident that may occur.

There are 4 bars in the Theatre all capable of serving hot and cold drinks

We do have disabled facilities at the Alexandra Theatre, which include spaces for wheel chair users and there careers in the auditorium.
